How to Enable Villager AutoQueue in AoM Retold
Honestly, this is perhaps the most important tip about AoM Retold

So, I’ve been playing Age of Mythology: Retold, and one feature that’s really stood out to me is the Villager AutoQueue. If you’re like me and love managing your empire but hate the constant back-and-forth with your Town Center, this is going to save you so much time and hassle.
How to Enable Villager AutoQueue
- Start the Game: Just fire up AoM: Retold and hop into your game—doesn’t matter if it’s a campaign, multiplayer, or skirmish.
- Select Your Town Center: Once you’re in, click on your Town Center (press CTR+Z)
- Activate AutoQueue: At the bottom left of the Town Center’s UI, you’ll see an AutoQueue button. It looks like a circular arrow or a toggle switch. Click it to turn on AutoQueue for villagers.
- Let It Roll: With AutoQueue on, your Town Center will keep pumping out villagers as long as you’ve got the resources. No more babysitting needed.
Also, you might want to enable it from settings, this way, you won’t have to do it every time. But of course, now you need to make sure you don’t forget to disable it.
Why I Love It
Honestly, this feature has been a game-changer for me. With AutoQueue on, I can finally focus on the bigger picture—expanding my empire, managing my military, or planning my next move—without worrying about constantly queuing up villagers.
Of course, you’ve got to keep an eye on your food supply because if you run low, AutoQueue will pause until you’ve got enough to keep going. But even then, it’s so much easier to manage my economy now.
And if I ever need to take back control, maybe to prioritize military units or buildings, I just toggle off AutoQueue. Simple as that.
