Age of Mythology: Retold now has a free Village Defense mod, and it looks incredibly fun

Age of Mythology: Retold now has a free Village Defense mod that you can download and play. If you missed these kinds of maps (made popular with Warcraft 3, another classic RPG), then you should know you can legally and safely download the mod and play it today.

Suggestively called Village Defense, the map is a four-player coop defense game in which you and your allies must defend a palace in the middle of the map against 16 waves of increasingly difficult waves.

All Gods can be played from every Pantheon, and the modders have changed the so-called useless God Powers with alternatives, so you should have a lot of fun playing it.

The good thing about this mod is that you can set the difficulty options for it from easier to harder, although with Age of Mythology: Retold, we all know that harder means more fun and Village Defense is no exception.

Higher difficulties will mean these waves can come earlier, so you’ll have to prepare swiftly for them.

Plus, like Arena of the Gods’ Blessings and World Twists, this mod has random waves and events, and none of the 16 rounds will be similar.

Village Defense is currently a hidden gem, with only 469 downloads but good reviews so far.

How to install Village Defense in Age of Mythology: Retold

1. Open Age of Mythology: Retold.
2. Click on Mods.
3. Select Browse Mods.
4. In the Search Box, type in Village Defense, and then hit Install.

To play it, you’ll need to keep the mod enabled, and then you can access it through the Skirmish area by choosing it from the maps.

You can also play it with friends in multiplayer matches, although we recommend you try it on your own first to see how it works.
