Valor is one of the most useful God Powers in Age of Mythology: Retold. Granted by Prometheus of the Atlantean Pantheon in the Classical Age, you can use it to turn your units into Heroes.
While the original Age of Mythology (which is still available to purchase, by the way) lets the gamer use this God Power a limited number of times, Age of Mythology: Retold overhauls the way it is used, and it’s one of those God Power that will almost always win you early matches against your opponents.
When playing with Atlanteans, choosing Prometheus is one of the most popular choices due to Valor. You should always go for it. And you should most definitely use it as often as you can. Here’s why.
Why Valor is an essential God Power in Age of Mythology: Retold?
First, you can use Valor infinitely in Age of Mythology: Retold. There is no limit. The first time is free. Then, the first reuse will cost you 1 Favor. Each reuse will cost 1 Favor more. It has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
Once you reach the Classical Age, you can use the Favor you gathered to turn your units into heroes. This means you can have a handful of heroes early in the game without the expense of the resources involved. You’ll only spend Favor, which is not useful at this point in the game, and it will always regenerate when you need it.
The better thing about Valor is that using it also heals the unit completely. It works on Citizens, too, so you might want to use it on them if you want to have a stronger economy to support an efficient army early in the game.
It’s important to use it as frequently as you can once you have it. You’ll have an army of heroes at your disposal very easily and quickly, and that’s always a good thing, considering your opponent will most likely attack you with myth units.
