Key notes
- There are 17 blessings you can unlock.
- You can only use 3 of them in a match.
- They differ in power and strength.
The Arena of the Gods mod for Age of Mythology Retold is here, and thanks to its world twists, modifiers, and blessings, it’s insanely fun to play and reinvigorates the game just in time before the next expansion, the Chinese-based Immortal Pillars, drops.
The mod is a skirmish-based campaign with 35 scenarios, many non-linear and repeatable. Alongside its world twists modifiers, which hugely impact the gameplay, the player can unlock blessings in Age of Mythology: Retold’s Arena of the Gods.
When you unlock enough blessings, you can choose three of them for a scenario, and similar to the world twists, they can bend the gameplay to your advantage or not.
These blessings range in power and are labeled Simple, Fine, Heroic, Eternal, and Divine based on their strength, and each blessing can be given with a different power. If one Scenario offers you a blessing on Fine, another Scenario can offer you the same blessing as Eternal.
As you complete scenarios, you’ll unlock more powerful blessings.
In Age of Mythology: Retold’s Arena of the Gods, 17 blessings are given. However, you can only use three at a time.

- Thor’s Crashing Thunder: Human soldiers deal additional damage.

- Gaia’s Last Resort: Spawns temporary dryads that defend your base for a limited time.
- Loki’s Serpentine Wrath: A free Nidhogg spawns at your Temple when you advance to the Mythic Age.
It’s worth noting that these blessings should always be chosen conclusively with the World Twist of the Scenario, as they can often complement each other well, making the game far more fun.
Ah, and always play Arena of the Gods on Hard or Extreme Difficulty.
