Curse is such a weak God Power in Age of Mythology: Retold that it's actually a shame

Curse might singlehandedly be the weakest God Power in the entire Age of Mythology: Retold, and definitely in the Greek Pantheon. It is the worst for a Heroic god power.

There. I said it. As much as I love Aphrodite and her tech focusing on Villagers and her Nemean Lyon, her Curse God Power doesn’t do much to stop your enemy from obliterating you.

As the title says, Curse is a God Power that turns your enemy’s infantry into Pigs. Similar to the original game, it doesn’t work on working units, heroes, and Titans. It will always turn 3 units into pigs, but no more than 9.

It also costs 125 Favor, when used for a second time, with a ramping cost of +5 Favor each time you cast.

And quite frankly, it’s horrible.

This is why Curse is the worst God Power in Age of Mythology: Retold

1. It only curses up to 9 units. And that’s not a lot. It might be a good thing if your enemy has a few myth units, as they might be affected. Emphasis on might, though, as Curse happens randomly. It can be used to weaken the attack, but other than that, it doesn’t do much.
2. It has a cooldown of 150 minutes, so it’s useless if you want to use it in a big fight. If, at least, the cooldown were shorter, Curse would have been an excellent God Power. This way? Not worth it.
3. It doesn’t work on Villagers and Heroes. So, if you want to cripple your enemy’s economy with it, you can’t. And if your enemy happens to be an Atlantean with many heroes, Curse won’t do anything. Same with Hersirs, or Priests.

One of the weirdest things about it is that it doesn’t even provide sufficient food. Pigs can always be killed in battle, and usually, by the time you use Curse, you already have your economy in place.

It’s best to use it early in the game, considering reaching the Heroic Age is still early. Not on my terms, but you do you, I guess.
